Danny joined The Parachute Regiment in July 1993 and after successfully passing out of training, he joined B Company 3 PARA, then part of 5 Airborne Brigade based in Aldershot. He subsequently saw operational service in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan where notably he was awarded a ‘Mention in Despatches’.
In 2012 he was posted to 1 PARA and a year later he then assumed the role as Regimental Sergeant Major 3 PARA. In 2015 he was awarded a Late Entry Commission and was posted to 2 PARA, later serving as The Parachute Regiment Adjutant at RHQ PARA followed by attending Intermediate Command and Staff College. His final assignment was in HQ 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team. He retired as a Major in 2022 after serving in all three regular Para Battalions, RHQ PARA and HQ 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team.
