Lt Gen (Retd) Jonathan Page CB OBE

Jonathan was commissioned into The Parachute Regiment in 1981, serving with the Second Battalion in the Falklands War, Belize and Northern Ireland. Subsequently seconded to The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards he commanded a Challenger armoured squadron in The Gulf War (1990-91.) He was Chief of Staff 24 Airmobile Brigade and moved it from Catterick to Colchester in 1993. Following a tour with the UN in Sarajevo (1995) he instructed at the Army Staff College then the Joint Services College. Staff appointments saw him responsible for the Army’s Equality and Diversity Agenda then as a strategic planner in MOD Whitehall.
He was appointed to Command 16 Air Assault Brigade and took it to the Gulf for the invasion of Iraq (2003.) He then commanded the UK’s High Readiness Joint Force HQ before promotion to Major General to command NATO Forces in Southern Afghanistan (2007-08.) On return to the UK he formed a new Divisional HQ (6 (UK) Division) in York. His final appointment in the military was as 3* Commander responsible for the Army’s Doctrine, training and equipment. He left the Army in September 2014.
He was Colonel Commandant The Parachute Regiment 2012-2015. He maintains links with the military as: An Honorary Colonel of the Army Cadet Force, County President The Royal British Legion, and Trustee PRAFC.
