Colchester 2016

Through thick mud and machine gun fire, some 700 runners took part in the annual PARAS’10 challenge in Colchester. A mix of civilians, soldiers and dogs took part in the 10-mile run, which iscompleted as a cross-country race in trainers or as the P Company Challenge, wearing boots, trousers and carrying a 35lb rucksack – known as tabbing. The weather conditions were just right for The Parachute Regiment’s Red Devils freefall display team to drop in before the race started.

This year saw the introduction of the Military Team Tab trophy which was won by 13 Air Assault Support Regiment RLC Team A. Joint winners of the civilian Tab Team trophy were our sponsors LW Fitness for All and a couple dressed in full wedding attire who will soon be getting married. A couple that tabs together stays together. The first runner home was Nichahang Rai of the Royal Gurkha Rifles who did it in 1hr 2mins. You can still get your hands on these by making a suggestion donation of £6 inc. p&p via Virgin Money Giving (link at the bottom of http://www.supportourparas.org), then emailing secretary@supportourparas.org with your details (name, address, donation reference number and how many you have donated for)
